Donny Schatz
was born August 10, 1977, son of Danny who also raced sprint cars and was WOO
Rookie of the Year in 1997. After 4 years of go-cart racing Donny began his
sprint car career at the age of 15 and today October, 2006, he is currently #1
in points for World of Outlaws Sprint Series. In 1994 he finished 5th in the
National Wissota Sprint car points and won eight features. In 1996 he WON
National Wissota Sprint Car Championship winning 25 Feature events and he
finished 18th in the World of Outlaw points. This was just the beginning,

Donny Schatz did it. He won the biggest
winged sprint car race in the world, the Knoxville Nationals, after four career
second place runs in the event. The 46th annual 'Grand Daddy of em all' paid
$140,000 to the winner from Fargo, North Dakota. Joey Saldana finished second,

He had been so close but just couldn’t make the jump one step up the podium.
Four times in the most prestigious sprint car race in the world, Donny Schatz
saw the checkered flag wave from the runner-up position. Four times he had to
check his emotions as he looked up the podium and saw somebody else celebrating.
On Saturday night at the 46th Annual Super Clean Knoxville Nationals, Schatz

Captures Eight of Nine Aussie Events
All hail Donny Schatz: The entire fleet of Champion-stacked heavy-hitters within
the Tyrepower PCR pit compound had one eye on Donny Schatz in the Pick ‘n
Payless #2 J&J. Despite the world’s best throwing everything at the North Dakota
resident, Schatz clean-swept the three-day Outlaws Downunder from a fighting
Daryn Pittman in second, with Danny ‘The Dude’ Lasoski in third.
The drivers are the pinnacle of World Sprintcar racing. The forty-lap A-Main was
all the better for it, as the entire field went the first twenty-seven laps
