B.J. wins Bright House Challenge Super Late Model
Race and Championship at New Smyrna Speedway
Samsula, Fla. (November 11, 2006) B.J. and the
crew headed to New Smyrna Speedway four points in the lead for the Bright
House Challenge Super Late Model 50 Championship. And B.J. and the crew went
home with the 2006 Championship.
There was no stopping B.J. on his road to his first Championship in quite a
few years. B.J. and the crew started out 2006 fighting the car but ended the
year with what they say is a perfect car for New Smyrna Speedway. (read

B.J. McLeod
was born November 17, 1983 . He lives in Wauchula, Florida, which is a small
farming community south of Tampa. His parents are the kind of people who call
you sir and ma'am. Real down to earth, hard working folks. B.J.'s dad, Darwin
McLeod, introduced B.J. to motor sports at three years of age. He started with
4 wheelers at age 3, Karting from age 5 to 18 and was racing Late Model at age
12.
Here are some of B.J.’s accomplishments:
* Won over
180 events in Karts and Late Model Stock Cars
* 1996 National WKA
Champion
* 8 times Florida
State Champion in WKA & Eight Track Championship at other tracks
* WKA South Carolina
State Champion
* Attended FinishLine
Racing School March 1997
* August 1997 B.J. became the
youngest driver ever to
WIN a Super Late Model race
* October 1997 he became the
youngest driver ever to qualify for a major
sanctioned race. He finished 18th in the ASA race at Kinley , North Carolina
out of a field of 32 cars. One month before his 14th birthday.
* 1997 - At 14 years
of age B.J. WON the track Late Model Championship at
Orlando Speedworld (3/8 mile) and New
Smyrna Speedway (1/2 mile) in 1998.
* March 1998 B.J.
broke the track record at Orlando Speedworld.
* 1999 SAS (Southern
All Stars) Rookie of the Year and second in overall points
