Sorenson follows up pole at Indy with top-five run
By Mark Aumann, NASCAR.COM
July 30, 2007
INDIANAPOLIS -- Maybe it's time for Reed Sorenson to step out of the shadows of
his better-known teammate.
Overshadowed by the great run by Juan Montoya in Sunday's Allstate 400 at the
Brickyard was the equally impressive outing by Sorenson, the 21-year-old from
the Atlanta suburbs who carried over his momentum from last week's Busch
Series win to score a top-five finish
after becoming the youngest driver in Indianapolis history
to capture a pole position.
"It's not disappointing at all," Sorenson said. "Any time you can get a top-five
or top-10, it's great. We're really happy. We got the pole at the Brickyard and
then finished top-five, so we're pretty happy right now." (read

Sorenson holds off field for first NBS win in two
years
By The Associated Press
July 22, 2007
MADISON, Ill. -- Reed Sorenson has found a formula and a track that serve him
well. Four races after switching crew chiefs and 61 after earning his previous
Busch Series victory, Sorenson avoided the pitfalls of a caution-filled Gateway
250 on Saturday night (watch video). His previous victory came at the same track
nearly two years ago to the date. "[My car] was dominant all night,'' he said.
"It was as good as the car I had when I won here earlier.'' Sorenson, who hadn't
led any part of a race this season before Saturday, passed David Reutimann on
Lap 159 moments after the eighth yellow flag was lifted. He survived the race's
ninth and final caution with a strong restart to distance himself from Reutimann,
who eventually finished third. (read

McMurray ends 166-race
streak with Daytona win
By Jenna Fryer, The Associated Press
July 9, 2007
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Jamie McMurray ended a massive losing streak in dramatic
fashion, beating Kyle Busch by a bumper to the finish line of the Pepsi 400 on
Saturday night. McMurray ended a 166-race winless streak by drag racing with
Busch for much of the final two laps at Daytona International Speedway. The cars
appeared to touch several times on their final trip around the famed track, and
McMurray nosed across the finish line a mere 0.005 seconds ahead of Busch. (read

Erin Crocker Earns Pole at Daytona; Bumps Gerhart
ARCA/Refax
Daytona International Speedway
Daytona Beach FL (2-9-07)
Bobby Gerhart's quest to win a fifth consecutive pole award at Daytona came to a
screeching halt Friday afternoon at Daytona Int'l Speedway when
Erin Crocker qualified just over two-tenths
quicker, winning the pole for the 44th annual ARCA 200 at Daytona.
Crocker, in the #98 Evernham Motorsports Dodge, qualified with a top speed of
182.219 mph over Gerhart, who qualified second at 181.437 mph.
"It's a thrill to be on the pole here in Daytona," said Crocker. "I used to come
here as a little girl.
Josh Wise and Brandon Whitt made history by
qualifying Toyotas into the starting line-up, marking the first-ever foreign
nameplate to compete in ARCA RE/MAX Series competition.

Schatz Saves His Best To Win The Final Of Outlaws
Down Under Iv
Posted Sunday, 21 January 2007 by Daniel Powell
After Steve Kinser had dominated the opening two nights of Outlaws Down Under IV
at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (TPCR), fellow American Donny Schatz saved
his strongest performance until the final night when he stormed to victory in
what was his second consecutive win of the fourth running of the spectacular
event.
Leading up to the Outlaws Down Under IV Schatz wasn’t carrying the best of form,
and hit form on the third and final night where he dominated the 40-lap feature
race after taking the lead from pole sitter Kinser on the tenth lap exiting turn
two, and from there Schatz was unstoppable for the remaining distance. (read
